To a cousin that I consider a true brother and a Friend. There are so many things I can say but it would take far too long. Coming up we had some good times and good stories; when we got older we had even better times and better stories. Bubba, you has a special place in my heart and we will truly miss you- I will truly miss you. I know you're up there looking down on all of us laughing-
still sharing your stories. So for now, so long my brother until we meet again.

My heartfelt sympathies go out to the family and friends during this difficult time. I hope that the promise in 1 Thessalonians 4:14 will bring comfort.

Where do I start...Daryel was a true character!! Sadly, there will never be another like him...:-( It was Daryel that encouraged me to seek a career in the U.S. Air Force and for that I will be forever grateful!! It was hearing his stories of his overseas adventures that made his visits so meaningful. Bubba was truly the guy that you could always depend on for a laugh or some insightful conversation.

I will forever miss his phone calls where we would end up laughing hysterically at something he conjured up in that brain of his...LOL!

He would never fail to tell me how much he loved Sonny and Loretta; then he would say something crazy about my brother Fred; then on to the "Glover Girls"...oh, and how I was "okay" for being a daughter of a Glover girl, but that was probably because of my daddy....LOL!!

He traveled more than anyone that I know and he lived as he chose and for that I am thankful!!!

I can remember times when we (lil cousins) would go with him to Andrews AFB and go to the NCO club and he would tell us in the car to NOT talk to him under any circumstances when we got there (he was making moves)...HILARIOUS!!!

I loved him, appreciated him, and will forever be thankful that I was a part of his Tribe...xoxoxox

Rest well, my love because now you can travel wherever your heart desires!!

Truly, a library closed when Bubba closed his eyes for the final time...

Until we meet again...Love you!! xoxo

Bubba I am deeply saddened by your loss. Not only did I Love you like you were my uncle but I also cherished you as my friend. I have so many warm heartfelt memories of you. The earliest was the time when you came home from the military and had Tracy and I marching around in the yard practicing the military cadence that you taught us (lolexcept you wouldn't let us say the cuss words). Then there was the time when you went through the Tina Turner phase and all we could listen to was Tina, you would say to my dad "Man the girl is bad". There were also awkward memories that I can recall. Back in the day you and dad liked to visit the package store. Well that didn't go over so well with Mom and you and Daddy would get a few choice words. But did you get mad No! You would just try to defend my dad and make some sarcastic remark like "flattery will get you everywhere" everyone would laugh (oh except my mom)and all she could do was to walk away. However your adventurous nature didn't allow you to stay in one place for long. You had places to go and people to see, never settling for the mundane. A man full of swagger, who had a passion for living life to its fullest, you were no ordinary Guy. I will miss you Bubba. I admired your
light hearted spirit, your wit and your amicable sense of humor that drew a jubilant crowd everywhere you went. Thanks for the phone calls that would often make my day. Thanks for the love, the laughter and the beautiful memories that will allow you to remain a part of my life forever. Indeed you were a special gift from God and I am forever thankful for having the pleasure of knowing you Daryel Fletcher.

Psalm 73:26 King James Version (KJV)

My heart is heavy with the loss of my Uncle/cousin Bubba. I miss my phone calls and you talking about "Sonny" (my daddy). For those of us that knew Bubba, our lives will never be the same. His Debates: Lord, what he believed- he thought you should believe too. His Adventure: He was a traveling man full of new ideas and always moving to "the most beautiful place". His Controversy: If it wasn't the government, the military, wars or America it was Us -"Glover Girls". His Mission: To Live, Laugh and Love. Bubba lived where and how he wanted. He shared his serious side topped with a laugh or joke and Loved those close to his heart unconditionally. Bubba, I don't know if you found that "big-leg, white woman at the Post office"-but I do know you will truly be missed and forever in our hearts. RIP Mr. Daryel Fletcher- Love you.

Cousin Daryel thank you again for coming to California to help my mom when my stepdad was terminally ill. You brought joy into our lives during a difficult time. Rest in peace.
