Patsy Hibschman Obituary

SHELBY - Patsy Ann Cogdell Hibschman, 71, died Saturday, April 26, 2014, at White Oak Manor in Shelby. Born on May 18, 1942, in Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Jack and Daisy Campbell Russ.
Patsy was a member of Shelby Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center and was an active member of the Red Hat Club. Patsy was a hairdresser and started New Dimension Hair Salon. Patsy was very active and enjoyed traveling and never met a stranger. She loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Patsy is preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Cogdell and Ben Hibschman; a sister and brother-in-law, Betty and John Walker; a brother, J.C. Russ; and her loyal companion "Gizmo."
Patsy is survived by four sons, Dewey Cogdell and fiancée Betty Martin of Shelby, Joe Cogdell of Shelby, Wayne Cogdell and wife Dee of Monroe, and Michael Cogdell and wife Tammy of Shelby; two step-sons, Larry Hibschman and wife Carol of Shelby and David Hibschman and wife Kay of Terrell, Texas; a sister, Brenda Laws of Pageland, S.C.; a brother, Jimmy Russ of Warner Robins, Ga. ; a sister-in-law, Sarah Russ of Shelby; four grandchildren, Edward Cogdell, Nathan Cogdell and wife Chassity, Kierstin Cogdell, and Cameron Cogdell; five step-grandchildren, Rebecca Lanni and husband Chris, Deborah Mennicucci and husband Dave, Ashley Parks and husband Brad, Seth Hibschman and wife Christy, and Joshua Hibschman; two great-grandchildren, Ethan Cogdell and Drayson Cogdell; and eight step-great-grandchildren, David Mennicucci, Eric Mennicucci, Preston Hibschman, Brylene Hibschman, Alex Hibschman, Presley Hibschman, Riley Hibschman and Audrey Hibschman.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
Funeral service: 2 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory
Officiated by: Dr. Luke Harkey and Dr. Barry Goodman
Burial: Will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery
Funeral home: Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory is serving the family.
Memorials: May be made to Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
