We just learned of Mr. Austin's passing upon my father's return to the Vet Home. He was a fine gentleman with a sweet spirit. He sat at my father's table in the dining hall. My father (CWO BJ VanSandt) and I send our deepest sympathies to your family as you grieve for the loss of this sweet man. His contribution to the table conversations will be sorely missed. Hats off to you Mr. Austin on your final journey home.

To my Pop, we love you and will miss you! You would have been gleaming from ear to ear to have seen the soldiers at your service. It was incredible and completely fit for an American Hero like you. Give my Mimi and great grandmother a kiss for me. You will live on in my memories!

May the God of comfort grant you peace in your time of need. We know he will.(1 Cor. 1:3)

Worked with Al at the Caddo Parish Health Unit. Remember him fondly.
Very friendly for a raw young nurse
entering the public health field.
