So sorry for your loss, Earl and John and families. I haven't seen Mr. Porter in several years, but kept in touch with all of your family through my sister, Dee Porter. Your dad was quite a character and a true Southern gentleman. I am sure he will be missed, but you have so many fond memories to hold in your hearts. Love to all of your family.

Sincerely,

Mary Ann Giglio Eicher

Earl was a good man, and a lucky man to boot. He had Hope as his mate and love, fine sons, great daughters-in-law, and all those grandkids who loved their PapPaw. He was funny, friendly, a perfect gentleman, and Frank and I really did like Earl. He is with his Hope now, and that's where he would want to be. I know all of you in the family will miss him.
He was a good man, and thst is a good thing to have been.
I love you and Joanne and the kids, John.

My condolences go out to the Porter family on the loss of their father, father-in-law, Big Papaw, uncle, brother, cousin and friend. Earl has been in my life since 1970. I was blessed with so many memories of laughter, great stories and wisdom coming from such a great man. He was a true Southern Gentleman! I can still hear him at the dinner table asking “Hope, what ya got for my sweet tooth?” You will be in my heart forever dearest “Big Earl”.

I truly believe that there is now even more laughter in Heaven since Uncle Earl arrived. I will never forget his ability to tell a joke and have the entire room laughing and upbeat the moment he walked in and started talking. I remember him pulling up in his purple TR-6 (with matching hat of course), and he always had time to give a kid (me) a ride around the block. I will never forget his kindness, his laugh, and his love for life. We will miss you deeply Uncle Earl.

My Heart is saddened by the loss of a man I greatly liked and admired. I always looked forward to seeing him when I came to town. His smile and sense of humor were always a joy. To my brother John I don't have the words, only to say I am glad you came into my family and brought so much good with you. Love you all....Jimmy
