My old friend "Luke". I have thought of you often after moving to Baton Rouge some 20+ years ago. Such a funny, light-hearted and wonderful man you were. Back in the dancing days of the Win, Place & Show, Cowboys, and Cheyenne Lilly's, we had so much fun together. You always made everyone laugh. And such a good looking man too. You were special in every way. Always smiling and laughing. You will be dearly missed in my heart. May you find peace. You were loved by many.

Rest in peace, dear Bobby. Mom & Dan will see you in heaven. So sorry that you were ill for quite some time and none of us knew it, nor did we know how to contact you when mom passed away in July 2013. You were a dear friend to our family for years and we thought the world of you. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family.

Dear Pam,
I've known your dad for 8 months now, long enough to know that he was a sweetheart with so much character! I'm going to miss hearing about the foxes and birds. My heart and prayers go out to you.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Robert Sellers (Bobby) Luke our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Bobby. And to Bobby it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during the Korean War while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Bobby, we commend you for your honorable service. You are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. You upheld the finest qualities of an American patriot warrior: courage, commitment, generosity, sacrifice, love and devotion to family and country. You were a true friend. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,261 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 233 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Bobby's family and loved ones.
