We, the trustees and members of the Reverend Charlie E and Cinderella S Taylor Sr Foundation, extend our deepest sympathy to the family of such a kindhearted, generous, and remarkable person. Your mother's commitment to education, interest in the success of young people, and her extravagant generosity has touched many lives and allowed them to achieve their highest potentials. Memories of her life and legacy live on!

We encourage the family to cherish her memories. Remembrance of the love, laughter, and the joy you shared make you strong. Thank you for sharing with us her "precious" gift of love.

Our prayers are with the entire family. May God continue to richly bless each of you!

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Mrs. Sunshine Venonia Shehee Payne a loving Navy wife who provided dedicate service to her country, her community and her family. To her family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Sunshine. And to Sunshine it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank her for her devotion to her husband, her family, the U.S. Navy and her country. Only a military wife knows the difficulties and great sacrifices associated with rearing a military family that relocated frequently and that often included long separations from the one they loved most and anxious moments of concern for their safety. Sunshine, we bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,261 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 233 veterans of VFW Post 2238 in Shreveport, Louisiana, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Sunshine's family and loved ones.

My father, J.M. Lamkin, Jr. dearly loved "Shine". He was in the 1936 Arcadia High School graduating class with her. Even though I did not know Sunshine personally, I fave heard of her all my life. She and my father continued to correspond until his death. I am sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with you.--
