I was not closely associated with Jewel, just seeing her when I visited Calvary Sunday School and Worship. She was a great lady, all the attributes of the Christian lady described in Proverbs. My prayer is for God to comfort and strengthen all of you to deal with her loss. Sonya Coon

Jenny and Nancy,
You are so blessed to have Jewel as your Mom. What a sweet, beautiful, classy lady. I know she will be missed by many. May God grant you peace.

Miz Jewel was so important to so many. Our kids, Casey and Karla spent many hours of Sunday school and special programs with both Miz Jewel and Mr Bruce. We are forever grateful for the influence she had on our lives. Our thoughts and prayers to you all. Ronny and Pam Sanders

She and Mr. Nelson were the sweetest neighbors anyone could ask for. They watched after my father faithfully as long as he lived next to them, welcoming him for his visits he loved to talk with others about. They showed me the same love and friendship as well. I loved watching Mrs. Nelson pick the jonquils alongside the road planted by my mother and grandmother years ago. She took frequent walks down the road in my direction, and always had a pleasant word when we visited. She even took a short ride with me on my motorcycle a few years ago. A lady in every sense of the word, she lived her faith every day. I will miss her very much. May God's grace strengthen you all until we all meet again.

It was an honor to have the opportunity to take care of Mrs.Nelson. She is by far one of the best patients I have ever had. I will never forget her squeezing my hand while we started a second iv the night before she passed and her laughing afterwards because she about broke my hand. She was a fighter up until the very end. No patient has ever touched my life as Mrs.Nelson did and she will forever have a special place in my heart. I can only imagine all of the lives she has touched in her 82 years of life. I feel honored to have met her. Jenny and Nancy y'all have and will continue to be in my prayers. Thank you for allowing me to stand by her side with you. Please let me know if I can do anything for y'all.
