Ken Burgess Jr.

I am sorry I couldn't attend Ken's memorial service. In his last months I talked to Ken often. I truly miss our daily chats & spats. His persona was that of a rough and tough guy. We sometimes referred to him as the bulldog. But I was able to see the gentle side of Ken also. He is missed dearly in the office. His picture is now on display and he comes up often in our conversations. Family, you remain in our prayers.

I will greatly miss Ken. He taught me a lot about life and work over the past six years. I also deeply enjoyed our countless conversation on such a variety of topics. While I will always miss Ken's physical presence, he will always be with me spiritually through the lessens he taught me and the conversations and experiences we had together.

I want to thank my dad's friends and co-workers at the FDIC Shreveport office for looking after him and taking such good care of him during his 3 1/2 year illness. You treated him like family......you are family. I'm very proud of him for being so strong and courageous and fighting all the way up to the end. I miss our conversations......he listened to me and thought I was funny. He would often say, "Stop making me laugh. It hurts." He would also say, "Don't worry about me. You're grown, and you have your own life." Well, Dad, you are a huge part of my life, and I MISS YOU GREATLY. I hope you're causing a ruckus up in heaven. I LOVE YOU! -Lee Lee

I was so sorry to hear of Ken's death. Although I hadn't been in contact with him in a long time, I worked extensively with him during his time doing FDIC professional liability work. He was extremely intelligent, knowledgeable, and conscientious about his work--a true asset and someone who made my job as a lawyer easier. My sincere condolences to his family and others mourning him--

Burg was a remarkable guy and a wonderful friend. I will miss him greatly, especially our many hours of commuting to and from work together.
