May this promise help you to heal.(Isaiah 2:4) And he will certainly render judgment among the nations and set matters straight respecting many peoples. And they will have to beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning shears. Nation will not lift up sword against nation, neither will they learn war anymore. . .

To the Bruce family,
My deepest sympathy to you for the loss of your beloved Joshua. My grandson is a Marine with 2/8, however I think Josh was already out by the time T.J. was assigned there. As a proud Marine grandma, I am thankful for Josh's dedicated service to our country. Josh now walks with the other 2/8 Angels and guards the gates of Heaven with them. May your family be comforted in the knowledge that Josh is loved and remembered by people who knew him and also by those who did not because we hold all members of our military in highest of regards. Thank you for raising such a fine young man who chose to fight for his country's freedom.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft star-shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die....
You will be loved and missed everyday until we meet again at the Gates!!
Love, Katie!!

My thoughts and prayers are with Josh's family. I grew up with Josh in school since 4th grade. He used to chase me around and try to annoy me and as we got older we got closer. Josh was a goofball and had a great heart. I feel honored to have known him. Gob bless his soul and let him rest high.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Joshua William Bruce our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Joshua. And to Joshua it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during Operation Iraqi and Enduring Freedoms while deployed with the U.S. Maine Corps. Joshua, you are a true patriot, who served with honor and distinction. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,261 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Joshua's family and loved ones.
