Reading all these wonderful words about Marolyn make me realize what a truly special person she is. All these sentiments reflect the woman I know and that makes me smile.
The first time I met Marolyn was at a gathering on our farm at Lake Texoma. Her and Skeeter had just returned from Fiji or Tahiti (honeymoon if I recall correctly). When I saw her I was taken in by her physical beauty and that gorgeous smile. But once a conversation started I realized it wasn't just her physical beauty drawing me in, it was her poise and grace and her amazing, kind spirit coming through. Even outside in the bright sun it was much brighter with Marolyn's presence.
A few months later we had dinner at their home. Marolyn was excited about showing me her bird sighting album. She was excited about a sighting and image capture of a Lazuli Bunting & Rose-breasted Grosbeak in their backyard. In that little time she inspired and taught me about bird watching. I am to this day an avid bird watcher and think of her each time I spot one of the many species that we discussed. I think of Marolyn often and will miss seeing and chatting with her.
If anyone has her fabulous watermelon and grape tomato salad recipe I would be grateful if you shared. I still can't replicate it. She said her and Skeeter had lunch at the Fairmont in downtown Dallas and this was their salad. She liked it so much she came home and duplicated it. Such a smart and talented girl!
