Lisa, I was in Paul's 202 class with you in 1984(?). I don't know if you remember me. At that time I lived in Conroe, TX. I was looking for Paul's article on Gestalt Therapy "Doors" Open door, closed door and target door when I found the obituary. Barbara Clark had told me of Paul's illness last year. I am so sorry for your loss. It is a loss shared by a whole generation of people Paul touched with his incredible wisdom, kindness and humor. He lives on in my thoughts and my heart. I hope you are doing well. My very best wishes to you and your family. Gene (Henn) Whitaker

Dear Lisa & Family,
I was told recently about Paul's passing and was deeply saddened that I wasn't at his funeral to offer my respects. I was honored to work with Paul for years at Charter and then at the office on Southfield. He impressed me more than any other doctor by our challenging talks and debates on our shared practices. I have prayed for you and your comfort during this time. When I saw him last and he spoke with me, I was touched with the deep respect and love I've had for him and grateful for his life's work .

Lisa,
I just came across Paul's obituary. I am sorry for your loss. I still practice in San Angelo and often go back to the training I got in the 202 when doing therapy. I think of y'all often.

My heartfelt sympathy to Paul's family members. He was a good man that contributed oh so much to so many. The obituary really hit the nail on the head when it described his contributions positively impacting generations. I too was fortunate enough to be one of his patients in the early 1970's. His wisdom, support, and grasp of what is most important in life had a tremendous impact on my life and I think on that of my family as well. I worked at Shire House as well as a counselor and got many opportunities through him to offer support to others - truly a healing and growing experience. He supported me in going to medical school and after. I truly don't think my life would be what it is today had I never known him. Truly a great man.
