The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Richard (Dick) May our Brother in Arms, Fellow Legionnaire and Comrade Voyageur Militaire. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Dick. And to Dick it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country while serving in the U.S Air Force and for his many years of dedicated service to the American Legion and the 40&8 Society. Dick, you were a dedicated worker, a wonderful comrade and a strong supporter of the American Legion Post 14 and Voiture 137 of the 40&8 Society. We bid you adieu and a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,261 Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion and the 157 Voyageur Militaires of Voiture 137 of the 40&8 Society, we extend our sympathies and our condolences to Dick's family and loved ones.
