             Sailors's Psalm
"The Lord is my pilot, I shall not go adrift; He lighteth my passage across dark channels; He steereth me through the deep waters, He keepeth my log. He guideth me by the evening star for my safety's sake. Yea, though I sail mid the thunders and tempest of life, I shall fear no peril for Thou art with me. The vastness of thy sea upholds me. Surely fair winds and safe harbors shall be found all the days of my life; And I shall moor, fast, and secure, forever Amen.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to U.S. Navy SEAL Robert (Rob) James Reeves our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Rob. And to Rob it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Rob, you are a brave Navy Seal, a Patriot Warrior and a true Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,307 military veteran Legionnaires of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Rob’s family and loved ones.

Duty Honor Country

Sometimes sailors fall in war and some men pay the price.

For no war is ever won or lost with out that sacrifice

Just revere his name, praise his deeds, and mourn quietly your loss

For the soul of a sailor will surely reach heaven, regardless of the cost.
MCPO Larry Dunn USN Ret

Rest your oars, Chief; a job well done, we have the watch. Fair winds, following seas and a rising tide.

I had the pleasure of teaching Rob at Broadmoor Lab School. He was a great student and such a joy to know. My prayers are with your family during this time.
