Diane M. Falk, 68
Loving, caring person whose bubbly sense of humor will be missed
Native Staten Islander, Diane M. Falk, 68, passed away at Staten Island University Hospital North on Saturday, April 7, 2018, after a long illness.
Born and raised in Stapleton, Mrs. Falk moved to South Beach to raise her family and settled in Rosebank five years ago. After graduating from Curtis High School, Mrs. Falk became an operator with the telephone company, retiring to raise her three daughters.
Mrs. Falk was a longtime parishioner of Holy Rosary Church in South Beach and enjoyed playing bingo and creating ceramics. Together with her husband of 18 years, Eddie Falk, the couple enjoyed trips to Hong Kong, Hawaii, and the Caribbean, among others. Eddie passed away in 2005.
"Mom was a loving and caring wife and mother," said her daughters. "Her bubbly sense of humor will be missed by all."
Diane Falk was the beloved wife of the late Edmund "Eddie" Falk; loving mother of Diane Covell, Laura Covell, and Tara Heaney and her husband, Walter. She was the cherished grandmother of Ashley Collins, Thomas Heaney, and Sophia Covell and great-grandmother of twins, Julian and Helena Covell and Kayley Persaud. She was also the dear sister of Catherine "Kitchy" Hurley, Judith Lovas and her husband, Jeff, and the late William Hurley.
A. Azzara Funeral Home, 183 Sand Lane, Staten Island, NY 10305 has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements for Diane M. Falk. There will be a Memorial Mass at Holy Rosary Church on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and interment of cremains will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery.

So sorry I'm coming late here. Diane was a neighbor I so wanted to spend more time with -- I wish I'd known her during the years my other most dear friend, Joyce Fleming, in my building, did. These were both fine, original and most genuine individuals one can meet! Both gone too soon.
