Public school teacher
Elaine Wior Tindell, 92, loving matriarch, former Staten Island public school teacher, and avid tennis and bridge player, passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, in Tampa.
Elaine taught full time at P.S. 16 and subsequently as a substitute teacher at both P.S. 30 and P.S. 29 thereafter.
Elaine and her loving husband, Joseph Tindell, retired in 1982, to Boca Raton, Fla., where they spent many happy years playing tennis and bridge together. Joseph Tindell passed away in 1996.
Elaine is survived by her loving family: sons, Dr. Marc (and wife, Sheryl) Tindell, and Les Tindell, and grandchildren, Julie Blacker (Tampa), Dr. Barrett Tindell (Tampa), and Jeremy Tindell (Phoenix).
Funeral services were held on Jan. 8 at Eternal Light Memorial Gardens in Boynton Beach, Fla.
