LINCOLN, IL - Emily R. McElhaney, 100, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at The Christian Village surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be Friday, April 25, 2014 from 10-11 a.m. Holland Barry & Bennett Funeral Home in Lincoln. Funeral services will be Friday, April 25, 2014, at 11 a.m. also at the funeral home with Pastor Adam Quine and Chaplain Ryan Edgecombe officiating. Burial will follow at Hittle Grove Cemetery in Armington, Ill.
Emily was born Nov. 19, 1913, in Delavan, Ill., the daughter of Richmond Robison and Ina (Goodyear) Robison. She married Ernest D. McElhaney on June 21, 1944, in Norfolk, Va. He preceded her in death on Dec. 9, 1995.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (James) Swartz of Watseka, Ill., and Juanita (Stan) Paulis of Springfield, Ill.; one son, Bob (Marta) McElhaney of Peoria, Ill.; two sisters, Martha Dale of Park Ridge, Ill., and Mary Helen Morgan of Payson, Ill.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Marilyn Cox; two brothers, Alfred Robison and Richmond Robison Jr.; and one sister, Ruth Kinsinger.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Lincoln and will be accepted at the funeral home.
