My name is Helen Alice Hunter Lefave. I was named after her. My father, Ralph Hunter, was her mother's brother. I was the Flower Girl at Helen and Bill's wedding. We used to sign our greeting cards to each other "To Helen Alice from Helen Alice". We both moved away from North Adams, Massachusetts and our lives never intertwined again. Helen always kept in touch with my mother, especially at Christmas time. My mother, Aunt Elizabeth, also died at age 97. My brother Ralph died at age 72.
One year, when we were away, Helen and Shine visited and I'm sorry that I missed that occasion but they did find my mother at home.
I'm sorry to hear of Helen's passing. We're at the end of an era. I'm 84 years old at this writing and my husband, Albert (Deacon) Lefave is 89, but it looks as if the Bird,Lefave and Hunter families have many grandchildren and great-grandchildren to carry on our history. God bless us all!

I was very sorry to hear of Mrs. Bird's passing. She was a lovely woman and I know she was beloved by her family and will be truly missed. I know your treasured memories of her will comfort you, and I will be praying for the Bird, Knight and Eaker families during this difficult time.

My condolences to the Bird family. I remember her quite well growing up in the same neighborhood. Lovely lady.
