For such a small person, Cynthia had a very large personality. She faced many challenges in her life, some of which overwhelmed her. Nevertheless, she was a most generous person and always willing to help others. She genuinely cared for other people. I truly hope she is now at peace. God bless you Cindy

I remember Cynthia as a little girl seated at a big piano. Music was her thing in those far off days. Uncle Edmund was a trained tenor, so music was in her blood. The three sisters, Iris, Maisie and Marie, were extremely close, and their families socialised so many times, if it was Christmas or birthdays, Buena Vista or tennis parties at Aunties Marie or Iris' court, or visits to the Aunts at 403 Lindfield. Did you know you could time your lunch and tea to the minute and be finished, washed up and ready to sit at the kitchen table with a cup of tea to listen to 'Blue Hills' and long running radio serial on the ABC. The generations were one family. A Ravenswood girl, and I hear we shared a junior primary school teacher. There is nothing more difficult for a 5-6 year old with missing teeth and a teacher whose name is Miss Thistlethwaite! I lived with Auntie Iris twice, in 1949 Bondi and 1950 South Coogee, for six months each time, while my parents were overseas. She was a great craftswoman, a great cook, and Cynthia had a talented, artistic mentor. The genes of strong personalities ran through the family, and the Bowmans, and Cynthia inherited some of those traits. Cynthia was a child soloist at my wedding at St Michael's Vaucluse in 1966. I still have the sheet music. Being older and moving to the country, like today's scattered generations, I saw little of her. My Mother, Maisie, was my main source of up to date family activities. Vale, Cynthia.

Cynthia was a generous woman. She was strong determined and a successful self made feisty lady. She had her flaws & challenges like most. Her Grandma, my great Aunty Pearl lived at my Nana's home with my mother Betty and me a little girl in Lindfield until 1969. They were very close sisters. Aunty (Pearl) was like my fun Nana!My mother looked out for them & I was very nurtured by a bunch of caring multi generational women. Cynthia's mother Iris & Aunty Maise visited every few weeks. Masie parking her Volvo sports outside and Iris in her big Parisienne.
A colourful glamorous pair!
We would often visit the big mansion in Stanhope Rd Killara when we were dropping or picking up Pearl.
Cynthia was always in a whirl full of the next adventure. I always saw her as having it all.

She was very kind and supportive when my family needed a Christmas with family. My Nana's kindness & support was repaid by Cynthia.

I dreamed about her the other night and after a wild open party she was asleep on the lounge I covered her to keep her warm. A little frail bird.
Yes I loved her very much but I am sorry her whirls of excitement & constant drive became too much in my own personal life to give her what she needed from me.
Yes Cynthia I loved you to bits too. xx
