Our fred was a true gentleman and loved his poetry as well as he was a prolific reader .I had the pleasure of working in the nursing home where I met fred and his wife Alison . He was a devoted husband and I loved seeing him comb Alison's hair and talking to her . Fred spoke lovingly of Alison and how they met .Hugh was a great support for his parents and brightened their day with his visits. This also was more evident when Alison passed away and Fred moved into the hostel.Fred enjoyed his walks and loved to write notes down which no doubt came from his years as a chemist .Fred spoke often of his school days , his house keeper who looked after he and his brother in their early years . As Fred lost his Mother at an early stage in his life . Fred will be missed but it is comfort to know he is reunited with Alison at last . Thoughts and blessings to the family left behind from Susan whaling ., .
