Mum / Nanny / Lorn / Aunty Trauma

As I sit here and write this about Mum and the memories I share, the tears trickle slowly down my face.
Mum was such a lovely person, warm, kind, beautiful and always welcoming. She was always there for her family (kids, grand kids and our Dad) and she always tried to hold everything together in life for us all.
There was never a time were Mum was not there for me, she was always there so I thought I would share just a few of the memories:
•the sporting Mum - taking me and the team to and from footy games in the old Valiant, athletics carnivals, swimming carnivals - my number one supporter and never a critic
•the Nurse Mum - taking me to Hospital after footy games, for breaks, strains, cuts and injuries, bike accidents, skiing accidents and anything else that needed attending too - she knew the Nurses by name at Hornsby Hospital
•the Counsellor Mum - the pep talks, the comforting advice talks about life and all the girl trouble again talks
•the Academic Mum - always tried to help with my schooling, homework and career choices
•The Protector Mum - when the chicks are in the nest, Mum is going to protect them. For a small person, when anyone threatened me; look out for Hurricane Lorna. (I can still see my School Principals face Lol).
•The I'm always there Mum - she was always there, rain, hail or shine, thick or thin. Even when mowing the lawns I'd feel her presence. Sure enough, I'd turn around and she'd be following me; to open a jar, cut a pumpkin or ask me what I wanted for dinner or something way out of left field.
But you know what, I wouldn't have had it any other way, or change a thing. God luvya Mum, I will miss you.
I asked our 3 Daughters, Chloe, Lily and Charlotte the first thing that comes to mind about Nanny, apart from all the fond memories:
Chloe - her Unicorns . and the Cat
Lily - her hand painted t-shirts hanging in the spare room . and the Cat
Charli - the Artist / Painter and the Cat
My lasting memories of Mum are simple: our Mum (says it all), my friend, a grandmother, a warm, kind, strong, beautiful person whom supported and loved her family dearly.
Mum, thank you for everything, you will be missed and will always be in our hearts.
