Devastated to just find out about Marks sudden passing.

I got to know Mark through a shared love of Sunderland football club what must have been nearly 25 years ago. So we kept in touch over the years and Mark always made a point of meeting up whenever he was back in this neck of the woods.

We probably met only about 10 times during all those years, but it was a testament to his good nature and his friendship that when we did meet, it was like we'd only seen each other the week before. I'm deeply shocked at his passing, but know I'll never forget him.

My deepest sympathies go to you Clare, Rory and Joe. He loved you deeply and will be with you always.

Mark, you were always larger than life and louder than your shirts! As such, it is with great sadness that I write this.
In my latest role, I thought it only a matter of time before I ran into you again.
While this will no longer happen as I had envisaged it, I continue to be grateful to you for many things. I thank you for your professional integrity, ongoing encouragement of myself and many others and fun times at work!
However, it is the unseen things that remain with me the most. Allowing me the freedom to nurse my dying father without any expectation of paper work and such formalities is just one example. Such things are never far from my mind when I think of you and your obliging nature.
Thank You.
I hope you are seated in that great
Grand Stand in the sky, surrounded by many who cheer with you.
Fly High....Good Bye Marg

I will miss you my friend. Always. So many memories, almost all of them good. So many hours we stood, shoulder to shoulder, listening to bands. Live music was the blood that coursed through our veins. As you grow older, as I am now, you count yourself lucky if you can find a strong and deep friendship that sustains you. I'm lucky enough to have many friends from my childhood and they are my rock. You, Mark, came to me with friendship much later in my life and I am so glad you did. I am a better person for having known you. See you in the mosh pit on the other side.
