Sad to hear this, cant believe it...Under that tough surface was a great bloke...he set the bar high, and fantastic person to work with. I am sure sorely missed by those who knew him...RIP

So many good memories of working with Phil and devastated to hear of his passing. A top man who will be sadly missed by many (as he was every afternoon at 3.00pm if the wind was blowing). Vale Phil.

An honorable man, he gave more to those who knew him than he took, he will be missed by many

I worked with Phil at JDV in Perth around 2001. Crikey he was hard working. Thought nothing of starting work at 4:30am. Passionate about his work too. Then maybe off wind-surfing in the afternoon. I was with him the night of 9/11 - we were having dinner in Subi with some of the Westpac guys when that broke. He's left us far too soon. Very sad and certainly not at all fair. Peter Robinson
