Dear Sandy, Jimmy, & Stacey ,
Mr. Raymond Coullard, and I (Raoul D. Revord, Esq.) both graduated with James from Michigan State University in 1963 and were pretty close friends during those university years. I was talking with Ray today via telephone and we both recalled with favor our friend and classmate James Stodola. I am so proud of his service record . Ray is a U.S. Navy veterin from Sault Ste. Marie, MI and I spent my Viet Nam years at the U.S. Army White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico and later managed security for the Aerospace Division of the Bendix Corporation doing classified work for the U.S. Air
Force. I was orn and raised in Munising, MI. I later went to law School and have just retired after 42 years as a trial lawyer. In a few moments, I will call Ray and tell him about Jame's death in 2012.

God Bless you all. Raoul D. Revord, Esq.,

Dear Uncle Jim,

Men like you are hard to come by. I feel honored to have been able to know a man of your discipline and to have learned from a man of your integrity. The love that you showed for Sandy, Jimmy, & Stacy is a model that I will try to share with Brennan and my family. Thank you for the kindness that you showed to me, and the many wonderful memories.

Sincerely,

Hello Sandy, Jimmy, & Stacey: I am so sad to learn of Jim's passing yet happy that he can be relieved of his pain and suffering and finally get to a place where the Padres never lose a game. I have great respect for my brother in law. I will never forget his appearance on the Hawaiian stage as 'Satchmo'. I am currently in the mountains in Spain walking the Camino de Santiago where there is no better place to pray and remember what a good man Jim Stodola was and to ask God to bring him into His morning 'coffee group' and maybe in doing so he can have some influence in bringing us all together again. I love you all, Bill

Dear Sandy and family,
My deepest sympathy goes out to you and your family.
Just a tidbit. When Nancy Allen & Supervisor MacDonald announced that Colonel James Stodola had been hired, I was extremely apprehensive. I'd never worked with a colonel on any job.
However, from the moment we were introduced I knew he would "fit in" and be a good friend!
He had a good sense of humor, helpful to not only the constituents, but to all of us. He was always a gentleman and I thoroughly enjoyed the years we worked together.
My prayers are wilth all of you!

Dear Sandy, Stacy, and Jimmy,
Regretfully,we are not there with you today, but Judy and I have all of you in our hearts and prayers. The world is a much lesser place with Colonel Stodola gone from it. Having had the pleasure and honor to have worked for him at 1st Marine Division, I know him as a dedicated, compassionate, and professional Marine but most of all he was a good and decent human being who was a mentor to me. Judy and I remember the invites to your home and the times you came to ours. Words are never adequate enough at times like this to fully capture the degree of sorrow and sympathy we feel for your loss. Marines, as you know, say once, always and Semper Fidelis is forever. In keeping with your wishes we will donate to St Judes Childrens Hospital for cancer research. If we can do anyhing to help you, don't hesitate to call on us.
With deepest sympathy
Judy and John Christie

Sandy: I was so sorry to hear about Jim's passing. It really brought tears to my eyes when I read the paper today especially because he had been on my mind constantly for the past month. I cannot tell you how much I thought of him. He was great to work with, gave me advice when I asked for it, could always be counted on, and was a true friend. He was the best ever. He thought the world of you and his children. He will always be in my thoughts and prayers. “Semper Fi” my friend---Jan and Cliff Bourgeois
