Dear Cathy, Erin, Jamea, Christin and Glenn,

Cousin Chris here (MN). Very saddened to hear the news of Gus's passing. Many great memories with Y'all and Gus. One that stands out is our attempt to find a place to stay in Ocean City, searching up and down the coast trying to find anywhere that would have a vacancy. Gus was the lead car, and I was trailing behind him, following him every where we went. About two hours into our search, I get pulled over for driving in a 'Buses Only' lane. A warning was given and on we went. Gus, being the lead car, me from MN and just following, and I get pulled over! Gus says to me..."What happened?"..."What'd you do?". Ha, we had a good laugh and a few hours later we gave up and on our way back to Waldorf we went. Ten hours of driving, but had a blast with all you kids along the way. Love you all very much and most definitely will have you in my thoughts and prayers. Gus was a fantastic dad and he will be missed.

God bless,

I met your dad for the first time in the min 90''s when he picked me up early on a cold Saturday morning for my first practice ever as a fast pitch girls player. He had Erin with him in his Waldorf Marble truck and it was the first of many times that he made sure I had a ride which was difficult with my parents busy schedule. He was a great coachwe didn't win a single game that year but he came back for 2 more years and the final year we didn't lose a game! My military family moved after that final year but he set forth in motion my love for the game as I played many more years. Gus was a wonderful man. Erin and siblings: I'm praying for your family during this difficult time.
