SOUTH BEND - Arthur Stanley Lawrence passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017 at the age of 85.
Survived by his wife of 53 years, Suzanne; his sons, Craig (Kathi), Patrick and Kent (Wendy); five grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathon, Elizabeth, Caitlin and Allison; & one great-granddaughter, Olivia.
Arthur was born and raised in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Joseph and Rose. He graduated from Washington High School. He also attended Technical School in South Bend.
He served our country during the Korean War for two years with honors.
After serving, Arthur went to work for Studebaker Motors back home in South Bend. When they closed he went to work for American Motors Corporation in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Later, AMC transferred Arthur to the Detroit, Michigan Operation and they lived in Canton, Michigan. He retired in 1994 from Chrysler Corp.
He and Suzanne enjoyed their retirement in Spring Hill, Florida.
A Memorial Service will be held on June 12 at the First United Methodist Church in Spring Hill, Florida.
Donations would be appreciated to The Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation in Arthur's name at michaeljfox.org.
A private burial service will be at the National Veterans Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Sue and Family,
Mary Ellen and I are very sad, and wish you and your family, Gods Peace in this very difficult time. Will will always remember the great times we had with you and Art, and the discussion about Classic Cars that he and I enjoyed working on.

Kent and Family,
I was so saddened to hear of your father's passing. I pray that God's peace will fill your hearts as He helps you through this difficult time.
I always remember you and your family as you opened up your home and your hearts to me when we were kids. I hold many special memories of the fun we had together in Kenosha, WI, as well as at your cottage in Niles, MI.
