Mike,
You turned into such a great friend at ND. I was a student in Grace Hall and you were an Asst Rector. You mentored us as we operated Sarge's, the foodsales in the basement of our dorm. I will never forget your kindness and happiness. You are an example of kindness and caring. Love you Mike.

Our prayers go out to the Walsh family. Mike was a classmate, and while he and I did not spend much time together as good friends, I always viewed him as a "very humble and good person." Seems he carried on this humility throughout his life. Our family will light a candle at Visitation, here in KC for Mike and family members. Condolences and God Bless.

Mike was a gentle giant. I remember playing football against Mike back in grade school. While his size was intimidating, you quickly learned that after he would knock you down, he would also offer to help you up. I know of no one in our Rockhurst class of '80 who did not like Mike. I am very sorry for your loss but I also know that Mike just won the most important game of his life--the game of eternal salvation.

To The Walsh Family,
I am so sorry to hear about Mike's passing. I remember him coming over to our house with my brother Tim in high school. He was always a great guy even to someone younger than him. I went up to Notre Dame to see him and he gave us the most wonderful tour of the campus. We went into places most people where not allowed but Mike new everyone and no one cared. He told me one of the best thing about going to ND was he never had turn his watch back. He always on KC time.
At times like this I like to recall the Irish Blessing "May God hold him in the palm of his hand until you meet again...
