I finally finished putting up the Christmas decorations this weekend! Like you, everything has to be just right. The white lights on the mantle & tree have a twinkle like stars... reminding me where you are. I blow a kiss and wave back to your picture near the tree every day. Miss you so much, Mom.
Recently, I opened one of the many cook books you had given me looking for a recipe: "Fettig's Favorite Foods" - do you remember the one? I randomly opened to a page toward the back in the "Food For Thought" section and know it was no accident. Here is what it says: Title is "MOTHER" A Mother is someone who has that something extra... That extra capacity to give endless warmth and loving care to a tiny baby... That extra imagination to enjoy a tea party of mud pies... to be a doctor to a wounded teddy bear.... To answer questions that have no answer... A Mother always seems to have an extra cookie.... A smile... or a hug... A little extra surprise for special times.... Or just because she knows it will make you happy... A Mother has an extra supply of love... Enough to keep giving and giving... Maybe that's why a Mother is loved in such an extra special way--- This is all so true, especially of you, Mom. Consider this another tribute similar to my own. We will be together in spirit on Christmas day as a family in your home with Bob. It will be a celebration of the birth of Jesus, and your new life with him. I love you, Mom.
