Kenneth D. Englehart June 29, 1935 - May 10, 2015 EDWARDSBURG - Kenneth D. Englehart, 79, formerly of Mishawaka and Elkhart, died on Sunday, May 10, 2015, in Memorial Hospital. Ken was born on June 29, 1935, to Geraldine Ullery and Kenneth R. Englehart. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Marilyn Kadlec. On June 2, 1957, in South Bend, he married Geraldine (Vancuren). She preceded him in death on October 4, 2006. Surviving are a daughter, Sandra (Butch) Freet Jr. of Elkhart; a son, Daniel (Crystal) Englehart of Edwardsburg, MI; five grandchildren, Kristy (Ryan) Bowers of Mishawaka and Sallyann (Rudy III) Yakym of Granger, Christopher Englehart of Edwardsburg, MI, Bryan (Justine) Englehart of Virginia Beach, VA, and Kristen Englehart of Elkhart; and four great-grandchildren, Brady Englehart, Elle Yakym, Rudy Yakym IV and Eliza Yakym. Ken retired from Elkhart Products in 1999. Prior to that he was employed at Dodge Reliance Electric of Mishawaka and was a driver delivering newspapers for South Bend Tribune for many years. He attended New Life Church, Osceola. He was a member and Past Master of Mishawaka Masonic Lodge #130, South Bend York Rite Chapter 29, Council 82 and Commandry no. 13, VFW Post 2284 Edwardsburg, American Legion 365, Knights of Columbus #1043 Elkhart and the Elkhart Moose. He was a past member of Orak Shrine, the South Bend Scottish Rite and a member of International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, in Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, with Military Rites conducted by VFW Post 2284 Edwards-burg, MI. Friends may visit from 3 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, in the funeral home, where the Mishawaka Masonic Lodge will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. The family would like to give a Special Thank You to Memorial Hospital 9th floor nursing staff and the ICU nursing Staff as well as Dr. Al-Ani and his team at Pulmonary Critical Care and Associates for all of the wonderful care that was shown to Ken and his family.
