Tulch (as he was known to us in college) was one of my closest friends during my freshman year at the University of Chicago. He was probably the nicest, most caring person I knew at the time, and I have long regretted not staying in touch. I learned of his passing only now, in a rather random web search. I am not surprised to learn that he was a profoundly infuential teacher to so many, and am so sorry to learn that he was taken while still so young.

"Mr. T's" first year as the assistant principal at Jefferson Elem/Jr High, was also my first year as a 7th grader at that school. He was considered the "cool" principle. He was a great man and will not be forgotten.

We will continue to teach our kids to do "there personal best" as Mr T. would say. We are very saddened by your loss and everyone else's. God bless you and your family.
