To Nan & Family:

I will always remember my years as a parent at Jefferson Elementary when Mark was the principal there. I always looked up to Mark and respected him. I enjoyed being the President of the PTO while Mark was the principal and take great pride in knowing such a terrific man. My children all looked up to him.

We will all miss Mr. T. at Tarkington and throughout the corporation. He was a great man who was loved and respected by staff and students alike. May the memories of the good times you had with him comfort you in your loss.

My condolences goes out to Mrs. T and the entire family. My memories of Mr T go way back when I was a student at Perely Elementary school (1974 - 1981). I was in Mrs T's second grade class and later Mr T became our principal at the school. After many years of being away I returned to South Bend this summer (2007) and saw Mr & Mrs T at the Eastside reunion. To my surprise and delight Mr T remembered both my face and name. He was always very personable and cared about his students, past and present, as well as those in the community. He will be greatly missed.

Mrs. T. we feel sorry that your husband passed away. We hope you still have great memories of your life with him. We liked Mr. T. too. We all miss him. We loved him at Tarkington. ~ From Josiah Holycross, Age 6, Mrs. Tokars class-Tarkington.
He really touched my son's life with his gentle manner. Josiah was a hand full at the beginning of the year, but with your husband's patience he has turned out to be a fine student and a "responsible tiger." You remain in our prayers.

This is such a shock to us and I'm sure everyone! I remember Mr T as a basketball referee from my days at John Adams. My son goes to Tarkington and I just saw Mr T this morning. My husband & I had a wonderful conversation with him this weekend. We were truly left speechless when we heard the news of his death. Our deepest condolences go out to his family at this difficult time and you will be in our thoughts and prayers.
