SOUTH BEND - Our Dear Lord called Richard Allen Green (74) of South Bend, IN, home this past February 7, 2017.
He was born July 2, 1942, in South Bend, and attended Central High School where he was a very popular student and athlete. Richard went on to work for Reith / Riley and eventually retired from AM General. Richard was a member and had been president of the Naptown Riders and a member of the Martin Luther King Jr. Senior Men's Club. He received his spiritual guidance from Olivet A.M.E. Church.
Richard loved the Lord and Life, but was most deeply passionate about his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Constance “Connie” Green, brother, Thomas Green, and sister, Pat Wallace.
He is survived by his children, Richard A. Green II of Grand Rapids and Nikole Johnson of South Bend; and six siblings, Bernard ‘Jerry' Green, Dennis Green, Keith Green, Karen Green, all of South Bend, IN, Jacqueline ‘Jackie' Thompson of Chicago, IL, and Venetta Smith of Romulus, MI. Grandchildren, Damaino, Darrien, Richard III, Randle, and Dakota also survive him along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mr. Green is 2:00 pm Saturday with visitation one hour before the service at Cobb Funeral Home, 3525 S. Michigan St.
