Anyone and everyone who has ever heard or met Jesse was touched by his gentle, thoughtful, angelic being. I was so blessed to have met Jesse when he first arrived in Montreal. Jamming at the Yellow Door...I will never forget how this immense talent was always humble and giving. My sincere condolences to family. Can't stop tearing up.....

I had been thinking of Jesse and signing his song "That's What Makes You Strong." Then I heard the sad news. His music has been such an important part of my life. "Far Side Bank of Jordan" was played at my sisters Memorial Service. I will treasure his music forever. I so look forward to his upcoming album. I had the honor and privilege of hearing him play in Gainesville, FL some years ago. My sincere condolences go out to his family.

I first heard Jesse's Mississippi You're On My Mind" in 1981 when Cathy Barton sang it at the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, KS. I learned it and sang it for 25 years before I met the man who wrote it. I am fortunate I got to interview him for WUFT before he performed at the Butterfly Festival in Gainesville, FL. I saw grown men cry during that concert. Such a sweet, talented soul! I made the interview music special available for folks to hear again at www.donnagreentownsend.com

To family & friends, Keep Your Eyes on the Prize! When eyes of blind ones see again And ears of deaf ones hear again, When deserts blossom as the rose And from parched ground fresh water flows, when lamb, ones leap just like the hart, When loved ones never have to part, when songs of children fill the air, when joy and peace are every where, Then, too, you'll see the dead arise, If you keep your eyes on the prize. 2Cor.4:18. Sorry for your loss.
