Can still hear "our" mom telling me to stand still while she fitted me for my wedding gown. We have pictures in our wedding album of Big Jack and "Mario" sitting at a table. In the first picture, the wine carafe is full and everyone looks great. Second picture, carafe is half full and they both looked flushed. Third picture, no wine, tie is askew, and Mom is laughing.
We all had one go to friend/family when growing up. Ours was the Edelmans! Numerous days and nights were spent at the Edelman house including camping in the back yard and the Poconos. "Girls, that will be enough laughing," as we passed the sign for Intercourse, PA. I learned to play pinochle with Big Jack as a partner. It was brutal!
Have to laugh at the memory of her sitting on the front porch and yelling out to anyone who passed by!
Joanne, do you remember dancing with her on the front porch while Bandstand played on the TV?
Such a part of my youth. They will never be forgotten!
My deepest sympathies go out to the friends and family of Marion.
