Maureen A. (Regan) Morse of Norwell, died September 3, 2018, after a long illness. She was 77. Born in Boston, she was the third child of the late Lawrence J. Regan Sr. and Mary G. (Flaherty) Regan. Maureen was a graduate of Cardinal Cushing High School in South Boston and Bentley College in Waltham. She worked for Howard Johnson's in the accounting and payroll department before her marriage to the late H. Raymond Morse Jr. in 1972. After her marriage, Maureen moved with her husband to Whitman, where she lived for 39 years, having spent most of her earlier life in Quincy. While being a stay at home mother she had various part time jobs, including the preparing of people's taxes. She was a member of Whitman's town finance committee. She was also very active at both Holy Ghost Church and All Saints Church. Maureen moved to Norwell in 2011 and in 2014 to the Norwell Gardens Senior housing apartments. She was involved in many activities with the Council on Aging in both Whitman and Norwell as well as with activities at the Norwell Gardens. She made many new friends while participating in these activities and found her fellow seniors to be warm and welcoming. Maureen is survived by her daughter, Mary B. (Morse) Wood of Norwell; her three sons, David, Joseph, and James; her brother, Lawrence J. Regan Jr., his wife Maureen, their children, Laureen Regan and Lawrence J. Regan III; her sister, Gerri Jackson of Fla., her husband Jonathan, her son Peter Schoen, his wife Jenifer, their children Grant and Grace; and numerous cousins. Family and friends are invited to a funeral service at Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church, 17 Church Street, Hanover, at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 10, 2018. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Whitman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241, www.heart.org.
