We are so very sorry to hear of Franks passing. We remember his smile, his friendship and how much he loved his family. All those trips on the bus looking for housing and Janice you were always his favorite topic of conversation. We felt we knew you well before your arrival to Sigonella. Frank was the true embodiment of an officer and a gentleman. We felt lucky to have had the opportunity to call him friend and to know his wonderful family. We will hold you all in our prayers.

I had the privilege and honor to serve with CDR Williams on his first Afghan deployment and could not have been more fortunate to have worked with such a great leader. Semper Fi, Frank!!

So sorry to hear about the passing of one who I met while deployed to Afghanistan as well. Frank was always willing to help and went on a number of village mission trips c/ us. We also collaborated c/ him in getting vaccines through the Afghan Army. During that trip we gave out thousands of vaccines. I believe he even drove the hummer for us and rode in the top as our gunner when needed. I salute you Frank! Maj Soto Retired

Frank Williams was a superb Naval Officer and a good friend and mentor. I served with him in Afghanistan in 2007-2008. We went out on two high-profile missions and his spirit, humor and good nature kept us focused. He told me he was out there so the younger kids wouldn't have to go. His honor and nobility were inspirational. He will be missed.
