Jason, I only wish I had found you and your music before your untimely passing. Over the years, I've found it increasingly difficult to come upon current music that moves my soul - and you were here all this time. I'm at a loss of words to describe how powerful your legacy has been and will continue to be to me, so I'll stop while I'm ahead. Thank you SO very much, and I hope that you are at peace now.
You have opened worlds for me that no poet nor scholar ever could. May your spirit cling to "that great highway moon."
so sorry for your loss, may you be consoled by these words."Like a man whom his own mother keeps comforting,so I myself shall keep comforting you people."..isah.66:13....q
Sadly, I hadn't heard of Jason until a few days after his untimely passing. Since that day I have been listening to only his music and to my amazement, am discovering still a new beautiful song or two daily. I have been moved, astonished, fallen hard for his music and lyrics and drawn to tears for this is the sound of all-soul expression and I already in this short time a sorrowful fan.
Sending the warmest, most supportive thoughts and love to the Molina family from Germany.
Jason, the world should have embraced you but many hadn't the destiny to find you until now. You and your music will forever be cherished.
I am buying all your LP's.... thank you for coming into my life.
May you cross into the most beautiful place and be at peace.
We are so sad that you are gone. We always thought you would make it out. It's easier now, We love you.
Rest in peace, Jason Molina. Your words touched me in a way that few ever will. They will be a part of me forever.
I'm very very sad....gone but not forever!
Underneath this box, there is a helpful hint for people if they need help finding the right words to express their sympathies and condolences. I would suggest that the right words are most likely located in Jason's timeless, heartbreaking and ultimately uplifting songs. I doubt a more articulate chronicler currently wields a pen. During this period of public grief from those of us who knew your loved one through his music alone, or through meeting him as he traveled through our towns playing his wonderful songs, I have been thinking about the people who truly knew him and are mourning him as a son, a brother, a friend, a grandson and a husband. Your loss is far greater than those of us who lost an artist and a voice. I hope our sympathies are appreciated with that awareness. Those of us who didn't know him at all or only knew him professionally are saddened because of how phenomenally gifted he was and how much his art meant to us. It's difficult to lose him because of how much his work means to us, but I know it's nothing compared to how much he meant to you. Please know we are thinking of you during this time.
my very first favorite singer.
I am so, so sorry to hear about his passing! He was a rising star that was never seen or appreciated by most. He knew how to touch and pierce a person's soul!
I now can't stop listening to "I've Been Riding with the Ghost".
He'll be very missed! My sympathy to his wife and family.
