I never had the good fortune of growing up in the Heights but I am a South Sider regardless. I had only known ed for a few years yet I enjoyed his fighting spirit, gruff exterior but a heart of gold on the inside. Great story teller and always told me how much he appreciated all that his loving sister Margaret had done for him. His fight thru so many battles is over and he is at Rest in Peace. I'll miss him.

I am so sorry Ed lost his battle so quickly! He will always be a part of our family through the carved ornaments I bought for my gradkids for over 10 years! and my late husband helped draw designs for him, as well as taking photos of his completed ornaments. I especially will miss Ed's 'special' sense of humor!! We became friends over the years though Prairie State, and shared more that a few laughs.I was the one who ordered his watchband calendars over the last few years. Peace and love to all the family.
