My prays are with you all. I met Eddie when I work the fair at the end field gate he was a very special man and I will miss him.
I would have to write a book to explain how Eddie affected my career. If I can ever be half of the Police Officer Eddie was, then I would be happy. I consider myself very lucky to have had a man willing to share so much knowledge and listen to me when I was just starting at work. Eddie could chew you out and you still would feel good about yourself and have confidence. YES THAT IS POSSIBLE. Thanks for the butt chewings and remember man, IT IS WHAT IT IS!! Eddie was a leader and never did anything half way. A toast to you my brother and rest in peace.
In 2010, while organizing a motorcycle ride for the Cancer Association of Spartanburg ( Cruisin Cause We Care ), we called upon the City of Spartanburg Police Department to provide safe travel for our bikers. In return to give back support to the police, we decided to ask the Police Club to be our food vendor. My initial contacts with Eddie were all via email and I could tell he had the ability and desire to give back to his community. Upon meeting Eddie and Carol, their teamwork as a couple to coordinate the planning of meal for the motorcycle ride again proved their dedication. We again got to work with Eddie and Carol in 2011 for our second ride, and it was such a pleasure having them involved. I am so regretful that someone like Eddie, with such a vast network of friends, coworkers, and individuals that his spirit of giving to has contributed has left us. He always had such a gracious smile each time we met and endless energy. Hopefully someone he assisted during many of his community ventures will help " play it forward " in his memory.
Carol, I am so sorry for your loss. Please know our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Eddie was one of the good guys. He had humor and compassion and he was respected by all of us who worked with him. He is already missed by all who knew him and loved him. God rest his soul.
You were a great friend and a pleasure to work with and now he is pleasing God so God take care of him for us and let him know that he will be missed !
Eddie we bumped heads in the beginning but after that I really respected you as a person. May you rest in peace and may God comforts your family.
It was truly a privilege working with Lt. Ridgeway during his tenure with the City. He always carried out his duties with the utmost professionalism and compassion. It pained him to see people negatively impacted by their own wrong doing or the wrong doing of others. He had people's best interest at heart. Spartanburg was a better place due to the service Lt. Ridgeway delivered to employees and citizens. He will be truly missed and my deepest sympathies go out to his family, friends and co-workers. May we all find peace and comfort in the wonderful memories we have of him.

Dear Family and All Eddie's Closest Friends,
I am so very sorry for your loss. Eddie was a great guy and I know that he was welcomed into Heaven by his Mom as she held her arms wide open.
I knew Eddie's dad very well as he was a good friend to my late husband, Lamar, and his twin Leonard. Eddie was always so nice and a true gentleman.

In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it's the memories of you that are the most precious.
