Ferdinand Alexander Porsche

Obituary

FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) - Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the design chief credited with the classic 911 sports car and grandson of the automaker's founder, has died.

Carmaker Porsche AG said Porsche was 76 and died Thursday in Salzburg, Austria.

Porsche, known as F.A. by his colleagues, was head of the Porsche design studio in the early 1960s when the company developed the sleek 911 sports car that remains its brand-defining product. The car is now in its seventh version. He served as board chairman from 1990 to 1993.

Porsche was the son of former Porsche Chairman Ferry Porsche, who died in 1998.

He was the grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, who started the company as a design and engineering firm in the 1930s.

Not sure what to say?

Lieber Butzi, ich erinnere Sie immer noch. ich denke, es wäre nicht 911 sein, ohne Sie 9.4 2014.

I will remember You as long as I live, But Porsche 911 & your name live for ever.

I don't think Porsche would be around now without you and your wonderful design of the 911. I own a 1996 Porsche C4S, a classic that I will pass on to my son. Thank you. God bless

He is no more but, his name lives for ever. The best looking sports car in the world. Butzi we miss You. Tissa.

As long as the 911 lives on so shall he. He is destined to immortality.

Trusting in God's Promises
Comfort for your sorrow,
courage for each day,
Strength to face this journey,
His Word to light your way,
His peace to fill your heart,
although you may not understand,
And his love to hold you gently
in the hollow of His hand.

From now on when I hear the low rumble of thunder coming from the Heavens I will know it's just F.A. taking the Lord for a spin in one of those fantastic 911's. Rest in Peace F.A.

I love your cars so much I decided to name my first born after your line. My condolences to the Porsche Family. Rest in peace Mr. Porsche
