Ted was a leader. He led us on the football field, in school and in life. I am thankful that he was also a leader spiritually. He touched so many lives that were encouraged by his attitude and character. I pray for the comfort of the Holy Spirit of God for his family and for all of us who knew him.

I worked with Ted at Carver Jr. High for many years and always admired his positive attitude and friendly manner. The students as well as the faculty and staff recognized that Ted was a wonderful member of the Carver family. He will be missed. Ted's was a life well-lived.

Ms. Elizabeth and family,
prayers are lifted. Ted was a special guy. I worked in the library in the old Carver building and when we moved to the new Carver I was the attendance secretary. He would often speak about TJ and the grandchildren. Ted was one of my favorite people at Carver. He will surely be missed by the Carver family who knew him best. Much love to you and your family.

Ted was my hero as I entered SHS. Shortly thereafter he became my mentor and friend. He taught me how to be a better athlete and showed me how to be a better person. Apparently he did that to many other people during his life. You don't forget a man like Ted Phelps. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. May God be with you.

Elizabeth, T.J. and family. Coach Phelps will for ever be a part of my pleasant memories. He was great for children at Carver. His leadership in coaching with me was very unselfish and he was a great example of a winner. I am confident that the players on the undefeated Carver football team will always remember the great lessons he taught them. Sorry I could not visit you; however, my thoughts and great appreciation for Ted's life will forever live. I thank God for such an unselfish man. Love, Coach Redmond.
