I never met your mom, but I wanted to share with you the impact she made even with those who did not know her. Your mom was a neighbor to our head of school, and he shared with us how faithful and gracious she was. He encouraged us to live our lives as she did, intentionally, and with great love towards others. The next day after he shared this with us, I met a gal who is a hairstylist and your mom was her children's ministry leader. So, two days in a row, I was able to hear about your mom being a bright light for Jesus - definitely feeling this is a call to follow her example. I hope you are able to find peace, and eventually joy, in the memories of her.

Gwen was a classmate from Robert E. Lee High School, Class of 1958. She was a wonderful person and we enjoyed visiting with her when she was able to come to town and have lunch with us. Please know that she will be missed and remembered by her classmates.

Dear Michael, Kristi, and Jan,
Like so many others, I loved your mom & regarded her as a dear friend & mentor for 47 years. She was a constant positive and loving influence in my life. You kids reflect her spirit so beautifully. Thank you for sharing memories & love during this sad time. You have never been far from my thoughts since the diagnosis. I love each of you. Patti, I am praying for you, too. I miss Gwen so much. Her heart for God encourages me to draw closer to Him and I am ever grateful to have her as my friend.

I am so sad to hear of Gwen's passing. I first knew Gwen and Dick when they lived next to my Aunt and Uncle and I babysat for them. Michael was very young and Kristi had just been born. I loved babysitting them. Then when I married my Michael on October 5, 1974, Michael was our ring bearer and Kristi our flower girl. I moved from Spokane then, but Gwen continued to be a dear friend of my mother, Leola Gustafson. Michael and Kristi, please know that you are in my prayers. Your mother was a wonderful friend and I was blessed to know her, your father, and the two of you. May God bless and comfort you in this very difficult time. I love you.

We are sending you all love and prayers during this difficult time. I will forever cherish memories of your Mom making us French toast fried maple bars when we were in highschool!
Gwen was always the sweetest, most engaged, insightful Mom who never forgot the small details of even her children's friends. We love her lots and know she is at peace now.

Aunt Gwen was such a sweet, fun, caring lady whom we both admired. Her absence breaks our heart, but so many of the things we love about her live on through the joy and love of her kids and grandkids.

Oh, how we wish we couldl be at the service celebrating her life and legacy on Saturday! We loved sharing ministry with her at First Assembly from 89-99 and she has remained our dear friend since! Our hearts are saddened at her passing, yet rejoicing that she is with the Lord she served so faithfully! Hugs and prayers for her wonderful children and grandchildren. With love, Pastor Dennis and Marilyn Sunderland, Tulare, CA
