Happy Birthday, Pop. We all really miss you.

On behalf of Mom, my brothers and wives and our extended family, I want to thank all of you who posted your prayers and sympathies on Dad's death. Your remembrances and kind words have consoled us more than you know. It's heartwarming to see how many lives Dad touched in so many ways.

To the Family of MG Cochran,
I had the pleasure of instructing with Gen Cochran for many years at the WPAFB Aero Club. A true gentleman, pilot, instructor and mentor to me. I left the Club about 17 years ago and just reestablished contact with the new club at Greene Co Airport in the last couple of weeks and was told Harry was still instructing out there. I made a visit there today and was told about Harry's passing. I'm so sorry for your loss.
Sincerely,
Chris Belanger, Lt Col. USAFR (Ret)

As a young E-3 who had recently joined the 178TFG and my original meeting of Gen Cochran, the intimidation far surpassed any from my past. The fear dissipated after finding out he was your father, Chris. Anyone who could produce a man such as yourself with your kindness, patience and willingness to help, no matter how many times I asked the same question about ZULU time, you must've learned those attributes from him. Not knowing your other siblings, there is no doubt they, too, were taught the same patience and professionalism. I thank your dad for adding a few more outstanding souls so his memory will live on through his children. There is no doubt your mom had some input as well with four boys going in four directions, and is grieving for her lifemate of over 60 years. My sympathies to your entire family and friends, Chris. You'll grieve the remainder of your lives...which is good. That means your dad will be remembered for many lifetimes.

Deepest sympathies to the entire Cochran Family on your loss. We got to know the General through many conversations shared with Bob, our dear friend. May your many wonderful memories carry you through this difficult time. We know he will be missed by all.
