SSGT,
We never met but I have met your daughter. I know I am just one voice in her lifetime that told her of your love and heroism. Thank you for your gift in life and in death. My service in the med group can feel disconnected from the fight at times but I assure you that we will take care of your family. You are the reason that I do what I do every day. You are the reason I serve as a doctor in the military instead of running after pay in the civilian sector. I have the best patients and the honor to care for their families.
With a grateful heart and a crisp salute,
Fair weather and following seas for your loved ones,

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Williams Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to troops in Afghanistan this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Wesley R. Williams US Army Staff Sergeant. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.

We offer our heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of SSgt. Williams and we honor his distinguished service to the cause of freedom and liberty. Sadly, America has lost one of its finest heroes, the U.S. has lost a friend and protector, and a family has lost an example of character and courage, which they will love, respect and cherish forever. Today, because of the sacrifice Ssgt. Williams has made, the house of freedom is stronger, sturdier, and more secure.
To the family and friends, of SSgt Williams, I would like you to know that a lot of people pray for you, and my hope is that their prayers will give you the strength necessary to carry on. Just as you were always with him when he was deployed overseas, know that he will always be with you wherever you may be. In the days to follow, may you be strengthened by the fact that SSgt Williams was a man distinguished by exceptional courage and will always be admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. You, your family and your sacrifice will never be forgotten.
"Our debt to the heroic men and valiant women in the service of our country can never be repaid, they have earned our undying gratitude. America will never, ever forget their sacrifices."
SSgt Williams the flag of the United States of America has your blood sewn into the fabric; it shall forever wave in your honor.
Freedom requires sacrifice the protected will never know.

Wesley lived his life to the fullest and never wanted to be called a hero or thanked. He was a blessing from God. It's an honor to have been chosen to be his mother. Although my heart carries a pain that will never fade, I have no anger nor will I lose my faith. For it was God's plan and this I have known and excepted. My little soldier has done his job well. So rest easy by God's side and one day I will see you again. Love you always MOM

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Wesley will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.
For those missing in action;
for those who didn't make it home.
I know you're in God's presence you are not alone.
For every neatly folded flag;
for every shattered family
I will do the only thing I know to dignify your memory.
I salute you, allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
my humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you .
I Salute You.

Wes sacrified his life serving his country - in John 15:13 it is said "there is no greater love than to lay down one's life for a friend". If Wes could do it all over again, he would, as he was that type of selfless patriot. Although I'm sure he never thought of himself as a hero, he definitely was one. As the first leader of the the Tecumseh AFJROTC and friend and supporter to those who have followed me, we salute your family for its service and sacrifice. Wes is in a special place in Heaven and his family will be provided for by our country in the years to come due to his life of devoted service.

The Final Salute
“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.
This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to our Brother-in-Arms, SSG Wesley R. Williams, U.S. Army. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Wes. And to Wes it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. Wes you gave the last full measure of devotion for what you believed in and fought for. No greater love and patriotism are shown than when a man lays down his life in service to his country. Wes, you are a brave American Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
On behalf of the 1,261 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Wes' family and loved ones.

Our Deepest condolences to SSG William' family. His sacrifice will not be forgotten and will inspire us to continue our work against Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDS) so other families do not ensure this hardship. I hope you will visit our effort at www.CampaignAgainstIEDs.org as I believe you will find the video provided by Mr. Ian Anderson particularly moving. We believe the only way to stop IEDs and prevent hardships such as your family has endured is through a grassroots movement to mobilize the global community against these devices. SSG Williams' sacrifice for others will not be in vain. Our prayers are with you
