When I was little you kept me close and took me fishing;
I keep looking for the picture of me and you with twelve flounder we caught in Alaska
I was so proud; now I just sit here wondering and wishing
As I grew up our family grew and you took us boating and fishing;
But by then we had a boat. I was washing and waxing that boat each weekend because I had just enjoyed watching you pull mom on a water ski behind that boat
I was so proud; now I just sit here wondering and wishing.
I married had children, you kept us close and you took them fishing,
Their faces beam with each fish they caught and just being with their granddad.
I am so proud, now I just sit here wondering and wishing for more time.
Thank you for making us as strong as that fishing line that is needed to conquer that big fish known as life. I love you Dad!
