BARTELT, David Carver age 87, of Tarpon Springs, left his earthly home surrounded by his loving family Jan. 16, 2014. David was born Dec. 29, 1926 in Auburn, WI. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Ruth; four children and their spouses, Susan Jacobson (Barry), Kathy Skaliotis (Phil), David W. Bartelt (Lucille), and Patty Tagarelli (Mike); and 9 grandchildren, David M. Bartelt (Erica), Christa Bartelt, Marisa Bartelt, Carla Tagarelli, Andria Tagarelli, Kyle Dombach (John), Taylor Jacobson, Jean Bryant Dudley (Blake), and Tammy Beall (Jon). David grew up on a farm in Kewaskum, WI and quickly learned the value of hard work. He served his country in the US Navy and was honorably discharged. He attended the University of Wisconsin, receiving his bachelor's degree and a doctorate in Law. He met Ruth at college and they married while still in school. He moved his family to Florida in 1956 and was one of the early real estate developers in Pasco County. He was also involved in the Wholesale Rental Store Supply business. David was a charter member of St. Timothy Lutheran Church in Tarpon Springs and was actively involved until becoming ill. He also served many years as the LCA Lutheran Synod Treasurer. He was a member of the American Legion and the Wisconsin Bar Association. Since the early 80's, David and Ruth spent each Spring and Summer in Wisconsin where his passion and love was to fish on many different lakes up to 5 days a week. He was a very generous and kind man to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all. Visitation will be held at St. Timothy Lutheran Church at 812 East Tarpon Avenue Tuesday Jan. 21 from 10-12. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be sent to St. Timothy Lutheran Church, Tarpon Springs, and/or Suncoast Hospice in Palm Harbor. Dobies Funeral Home-Tarpon

Dave was a great help to me when I was involved with All Family Rentals and I know he help many others in the rental community. If there was a "Rental Hall of Fame" he would be there, but I am sure he is now in the Great Hall of Fame. Peace.
