SEMPER FI forever. Rest In Peace.
Dear Jean and Family,
I cannot fathom the loss you feel given the joy and goodness your Father blessed this world with. Even into his 90's when his feet were reduced to a short, challenged shuffle, he walked with an ever present glow rarely experienced and surely born of a life lived in concert with the angels a long, long time before they took him home.
Pray each of you feel him right there on your shoulders today and forevermore.
Such an elegant, extraordinary man.
My Deepest Sympathy,
Dear Jean and family,
We were so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. We are in Naples 7 months out of the year and attend daily Mass at St.John's. It was always a delight to see Joe sitting two pews behind us We would go out for breakfast with him about once a month
In our last conversation with him,the day before we left in June he said," I 'll see you in the Fall" God clearly had other plans for this dear, good man.We will surely miss him.

To The McCarthy Family,
I was honored to know Joe, Jr. and his father Joe, Sr. while working for First National Stores. Both he and his father were very gracious people in spite of their high positions within the company. I especially remember Joe, Jr. when the store in the Cross County Shopping Center opened with Joe as the manager. I worked on the Inventory Crew and saw both Joe and his father on numerous occasions. I am sorry for your loss and please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time.
The Webster boys from Dannell Drive in Stamford send send their love and condolences to Jean and the kids. We remember the great affection our parents, Bunny and Bill Webster, had for the McCarthy family. There never was a better friend than this great man. We join with your family in this loss. SEMPER FI MARINE, NOW YOU WILL BE GUARDING THE STREETS OF HEAVEN --
Marine Corps League, Naples, FL
It is with great sadness that I read in todays Cape Cod Times that Joe has passed. Our paths have crossed several times over the years beginning when, as a consumer goods sales manager, I called on Joe when he was with Finast. I also had the pleasure of playing some rounds of golf with him here on the Cape.
We also share the Naples area as our winter home base.
Joe was a real gentleman and a pleasure to know. My condolences to the McCarthy family.
Rest in peace in the Lord's arms, hero and patriot. Thank you for your sacrifice for our freedom.
Thank you for your courageous service, Marine.
Another of the "Greatest Generation" has gone on to be with his comrades in arms.. We owe so much to these brave young men who went off to war for freedom. YOU are what the word HERO is all about.
A grateful American
