I am sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. Wish I could see you and our other friends tomorrow.
Dear Ruth and Family,
So sorry for your loss. We are thinking about you at this difficult time. Many prayers and good thoughts headed your way. You both did so much for the people of Schuyler County and for the state of NY. Now Charlie is at peace.
Dear Ruth and Family,
We are so very saddened about Charlie... mourning the loss of our beloved friend, mentor, music colleague and former band member. We called Charlie a Renaissance man, blessed with so many fine talents and gifts, especially his beautiful voice and signature song, Amazing Grace. Truly amazing Charlie style! What a blessing Charlie was and is to us and we will always cherish the great memories and times together.

Ruth and family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Charlie was so much fun when we went any place. Always willing to lend a helping hand and make us all laugh.. ! He will be missed.
I played many gigs with Charlie as a member of the Basin Street Dixieland Band and his version of "Amazing Grace" was the definitive one. He was a kind, talented and giving man.
Dear Ruth and Family--i had the pleasure of meeting Charlie in the '90s when we performed dixieland music together. He had an easygoing, thoughtful way about him that always made me feel at home. I'll miss him. Please accept my deepest sympathies.
Dear Ruth. Charlie was the greatest! I'm so glad our paths crossed for a while. I'm also glad you have so many years of memories to wrap yourself up in. Love and prayers, Beth Greiff
To the family of Charles Young: Charlie was a Chemung Volunteer Action Corps (formerly RSVP of Chemung) volunteer for three years, he donated 185 hours of his time to serving others in our community. We truly appreciate folks like Charlie. Please know you are in our thoughts at this time. Sincerely, The CVAC staff.
My dear Ruth, and family, As I once told you, Hal and I "danced and romanced" to Charlie's music at the Pour House. Hal and Charlie were colleagues at Sullivan Park. I have a CD of Charlie singing "Amazing Grace", it is his song. Nobody did it better. My heart goes out to all of you as you grieve, but, what a wonderful person to have known.

Charlie sang at both my sister's & my wedding over 50 years ago, as well as one daughter's wedding 28 years ago at 1st Presbyterian in Bath - we will always remember his beautiful voice filling the Church, especially when singing "The Lord's Prayer." What a great gift he had! A blessing to have known him.
Debbie and family I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I remember meeting Charlie years ago when we worked together. A very nice man. Your family will be in my prayers.
Ruth & Family. We are so saddened to hear of the loss of such a great human being. I was honored to not only to have known him, but to have served with him on the Economic Opportunity Board of Directors while he was a Schuyler County Legislator & I was the Cheumung County Legislative Representative. He was a great source of knowledge. Charlie I regret that I never got the chance to have that "Yuengling," with you & a cup of Ruth's Costa Rican Coffee.
Rest in Peace my good friend. And give Howie Coleman my regards.
Sidney S. Graubard, Chemung County Legislator
To Ruth and family: Charles was a brilliant man and humanitarian. On top of that, he was an amazing musician and vocalist with a memory for lyrics that was astounding. We will remember "The Pour House" years with happy memories and tears for good times long gone. Rest in peace Charlie, and play one more Dixie tune with Bob Reome while you're up there!
