I had the pleasure of meeting Michael long ago when he first began his freshman year at Mansfield University. Since he and I were persons of color, we both had similar experiences as students. He was a pleasure to work with and was at all times a delightful individual. I was very sadden to hear of his passing. Given Michael's personality and earthly achievements, he has left this world a much better place than he found it. My sincere condolences to his family.

I was shocked to read about Mike's passing after such suffering. Mike "Deacon" was my Freshman Orientation Leader when I was a Freshman at Mansfield.. He was always friendly and took time to take us under his wing....even after Orientation.. I can see him smiling and strutting around campus... so very well liked.....

Michael was one of my mother's very favorite students at Beecher School. Even in seventh grade, she could see his potential. She lived long enough to see the great success he made of his life, and it made her very proud.
It is fitting that the celebration of Mike's life should be held at the Ernie Davis Community Center, because he idolized that man. Somehow, my mother had acquired one of the textbooks that Ernie had used when he attended Beecher and in which he had signed his name. I'll never forget Mike's face when I gave him that book. You would have thought I'd given him a million dollars.
My heart goes out to all of his family, and to the large community that he influenced. We have all lost a strong and wonderful human being.
Randy and Family, I was sorry to read of the passing of your brother. He was, obviously, an extradordinary man. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Michael, you were always a gentleman. You were always someone I respected. I know that you will be missed by many.
Until we meet again. Rest in Peace
I remember pounding the halls with Mike at EFA. A good man. He'll be missed.
I remember admiring Mike in high school . To me he was always kind and dignified. He had leadership qualities even then . It is nice to read that he went on to put them to good use. Love and peace to his family.
We will miss you Mike and can only imagine the joy you are sharing with HIM.
My deepest heartfelt sympathies to Mr. Reid's wife;step daughter, and his whole entire family;friends; as well as his students who's lives he touched. He touched mine. Not only by means of a school education, but a life education as well. I was in total shock upon reading about his departure;yet know that we will meet again. May all who KNOW and LOVE him find a sense of peace and comfort in knowing that you also will meet him again. May you also find strength in knowing his pain and suffering is no more. He lived a full and broaden life, and leaves a good long lasting impression on all whose lives he touched. The memories of my grade school teacher are forever engraved in my mind, and my heart. He simply was one of the best, and now he continues his best on the other side. May you continue to feel his spirit, and love with you everyday. Blessings to you all.Namaste <3
To the REID family I submit my deepest sympathy in this time of lost. Micheal was a very intelligent and business minded person. I met him through one of the Human Resources organization many years ago in the Bay Area. He will be truely missed.
Again to the family....remember God is your refuge and strength Psalms 46
46 years after high school, the memories of Mike still puts a smile on my face. So sorry he is gone.
I will always have memories of Mike Reid. He was a very smart, handsome person. My sympathy to Debbie and the rest of the family. May God bless and keep you all during this time.
What I remember most about Mike was during 7th grade at Beecher School.
I had broken my front teeth playing crack-the-whip on the blacktopped playground in 5th grade. My two front teeth were framed in shiny metal caps. I didn't laugh or smile because I didn't want anyone to look at those ugly teeth. Between classes one day, as I was going down the stairs and Mike was coming up (we were the only two on the stairs at that time), Mike said, "Hi, Smiley!" I had to smile then. I can remember it as though it was yesterday. I have always felt blessed to have had that encounter!
My condolences to the Reid family.I remember Michael at EFA as a classmate of the class of 1967. His smile and he will always be a fond memory of a Great Man who walked the halls of EFA. A man I had the honor of knowing. I recall his visit to our class reunion in 2007 and he still had that great smile and acceptance of all people in his life. Mike, I will miss you and hope to see you again on that last great day a united brotherhood of all.
Mike epitomized the word gentleman. He was a leader and example for all. I am so glad he made it to the 2007 reunion. He was an integral part of the 1967 EFA class.
I was in Choir with Mike for two years and he did have a great voice. Not only in music but as a funny soft spoken person. I was glad to be a part of his early life both at school and the Nab as we called it, I know he will be missed.
Mike always helped make geometry more bearable. A wonderful EFA classmate. Condolences to all his family.
Our condolences to the Reid family. May you have beautiful memories of a life well lived. God bless.

Sincere condolences to Mike's family. I remember Mike well from high school and college. He was the one who convinced me, during Earth Science class, to apply to Mansfield. His wonderful smile, upbeat and happy personality are how I will remember him.
May the "Comforter" be with you during this period and loss of Mike. Many pleasant memories to reflect on when think of the Reid, family in growing with them. Peace & Love to you all.
To Debbie and Susie and all the Reid Family, I offer prayers of healing from your grief. I pray that God will grant you respite from that grief and that you will soon know again the joy of sweet remembrance of all that Michael meant to you. May God bless you and see you through this valley. Love and blessings, Hazel Ross
