I thought and spoke of Mr (Sjo) Gaber highly. He was my 5th grade teacher at CES 70 in The Bronx. (1974). The coolest teacher in the school with his long hair and cowboy boots was his trademark. He even called us by our nick names. He was always respected as our teacher as well as authority. What a motivator he was. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I recently had a conversation with a family member saying that he divided us into groups and brought us to his house by the water. This was a little while after he got married (and was so proud to be) Who does that? Mr Gaber! Great soul of a person! RIP

I was a student of Mr. Sjo-Gaber when he taught science at CES 70 in the Bronx. And I was in his first 5th grade class in 1974. He was one of my best teachers. He took a few of the students to his home at the end of the school year. I too am sorry to hear that he has passed. To his family I want to say he was a wonderful man and teacher to the students in the South Bronx. Thank you, Mr Sjo-Gaber RIP.

Everything about his teaching was true. He was the best teacher I had and made a not so fun experience in school a lot better. I hope he knew the impact he had on his students. May he rest in peace with the angels as he was a true angel in life.

Here it is 7 months later, and I'm still thinking about you. 7th grade science class was always so interesting, and you made learning fun. I can still remember talking about good oldies music with you, and laughing about lines from The Honeymooners. I'am so sorry that you had to end your life the way you did, but I'm glad your finally at peace. R.I.P Mr. Sjo-Gaber. Always one of my very favorite teachers.
