John G. Fierro, a.k.a. Jackie, 90, of East Hanover, N.J., died on Saturday night, Oct. 12, 2013, at 10:30 p.m. at Morristown Medical Center. The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union, N.J., on Thursday at 8 a.m. Funeral Mass is at St. Philomena Church at 396 S. Livingston Ave., Livingston, N.J., at 10 a.m. Entombment is at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation is on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. For directions or to send a condolence, please visit galantefh.com. Mr. Fierro was born in East Orange, N.J., and lived at 261 Sanford St. before moving to East Hanover 35 years ago. He was a warehouseman supervisor at Sealand Service at Port Elizabeth, N.J., for 35 years before retiring. He was also an Army veteran of World War II. John is survived by his wife, Gloria M. Fierro; his son, James Fierro and his fiancee, Dolores, and his daughter, Judy Fierro. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
